You gonna eat that?

Yesterday the Nathan's hot dog contest went down. Congrats to Joey Chestnut for dominating 66 dogs, his performance is impressive. The reigning champ Kobayashi suffered a "reversal" as the announcers put it, if you don't know what I'm talking about just watch the video.

After watching the competition I couldn't help but think about how the rest of the world just looks for fodder like this competition to hate us. Oh well I'll have mine with spicy brown mustard.

I know you just want to be more like me and Rue, but did you have to steal my f'n format, too?

I don't have original thoughts. What do you want me to do?

Good blog start Husk. I would like to add a thing or two regarding Mr. Benoit. For starters, I was truly heartbroken by the news about the death of Chris Benoit and his family. For those of you that know me, you will understand how hard it was for me to face the events that took place. Laugh if you want, but I could not sleep the night I heard about the murders/suicide, I was that upset. I pray that God has mercy on the soul of Chris Benoit and I can rest knowing that his son, Daniel is in heaven. Like the Husk mentioned, Benoit was an incredible techincal wrestler. Benoit truley was the last of the old school. Trained in the Hart Dungeon by the Hart family, Chris learned a "legitimate" style of wrestling that gave the sport credibilty. Benoit also learned the Japanesse and Mexican styles which are much different than the WWE style. Chris was known in the locker room as the toughest and stiffest (most legit and hardest hitting) wrestler in the locker room. Chris was not gifted with a great deal of charisma, character or size for that matter. He was successful as he was because he was that damn good inside the squared circle. His WWE world championship, which he won in 2004 was really more of a career achievement award more so than a way for Vince McMahon to make more money. In my opinion, Benoit, Bret Hart and Kurt Angle are hands down the greatest technical wrestlers of all time. Benoit's name will now forever be associated with murder and suicide. I wish someone could have helped him through the horrible times he must have been going through. God will judge Chris Benoit for his terrible acts. I have lost a great deal of respect for him, but choose to remember him for his in ring talents and all he was able to accomplish once the bell sounded. May God have mercy on the soul of Chris, Nancy and Daniel Benoit.
